Haul (Random)

I wanted to use my $3.50 off coupon at Ulta so I picked up these two: Nicole by O.P.I "Texture Coat" in Gold Texture. I must say I really love the gold way better than the silver. The think I don't understand is how come this Nicole Texture didn't come with the signature Nicole brush. The brushed in there are standard.

I also picked up the EOS Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew. I love Honeydew melons so it was a no brain-er to choose this flavour.

I was looking for The pink shatter by OPI but it wasn't available, and I ended up getting it at Walmart, in the salon. So look out for that at Walmart, they have all the shatter colours available except for silver.

Here's a look at the shatter and texture in action.

I heard OPI is coming out with a Gold Shatter as well. But I don't think I want to wait around for that.

Sephora Haul

This is not really that grand of a haul, but a haul none the less. I went to Sephora to get my Beauty Insider birthday gift, and came home with more.

This is all I got. I picked up 2 Travel sized Benefit minis. I really wanted to try the Posie tint, and high beam but didn't want to spend $28 on both. I am a lover of the Bene tint. It was my go to face perker. Just dabble some on to my cheeks and lips and go. Easy! It also smells really good. I wanted to try their skincare line as well, so I got a mini for that as well.

HAPPY B-DAY. Philosophy's Shower Gel/Shampoo/Bubble Bath in Vanilla Cupcake.

Benefit's Feelin' Cheeky Mini- Posie Tint, High Beam, and Bene Tint

Collective Haul (June 4th 2011)

This weekend I kind of went on a mini beauty/makeup shopping spree.

Here's what I picked up.
  • Garnier Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam
  • Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
  • St. Ives Skin Apricot Scrub Gentle.
  • Equate Nail Polish remover
  • NYX Pumpkin Pie Lipstick
  • Maybelline Fit Foundation.
  • Cina Nail Art Dial -a-Gem
  • Cina Nail Art Midsummer Dream
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Going Green
  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in The Real Teal
  • Finger Paints in Private Collection
  • Finger Paints in Rose Patina
  • Nina Ultra Pro in Punki Purple
I absolutely love getting "reduced" nail polishes at sally's. Sometimes you can find the expensive ones like China Glaze or Orly for dirt cheap!

The Midsummer Dream was FREE with the Dial-a-Gem purchase at Sally's Beauty

St. Ives was 50% off at Ulta. Happy Buy!

I am trying out this foundation powder for the first time It's a shade darker, and the one in my tone wasn't there but I got it because I figured I'll gonna get a tan anyway so I might at well. The Lipstick is a little too nude for me alone, but paired with MAC's lipgelee in Jellicious, it's absolutely perfect. Too bad it's discontinued :(

That's it. Hope you enjoyed it.

Haul and Swatches

Yes, this is another nail polish related post!

I was in the Ulta area so I decided to pop in to see if they had OPI "Silver Shatter" yet. I was lucky because I got there early and they were just unpacking it. So I grabbed on bottle. Because I am cheapo I decided to get one more item in order to use the $3.50 off coupon. I grabbed NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 'Milk'. Every time I go looking for the eye pencil in Milk it's always sold out. So another happy purchase.
I also popped into Sallys too look at their little clearance table. Any time I can get a China Glaze polish for $1.99. I'm all for it. They only had one CG polish and it was Hologram from the "Tronica" collection.

Silver Shatter is pretty. I love it way better than Black Shatter. Silver Shatter's formula is not as goopy as Black Shatter and it's way easier to apply. Silver Shatter doesn't dry slow at all. Compared to regular polishes it's very quick but it doesnt dry as fast as Black shatter which dries almost instantly.

Here are some different colours with Silver Shatter Top coat. I personally like pink and silver!
and below is Hologram in direct sunlight...look at the rainbow flecks..Superb!

Sam Moon & Pearl Daisy Dupe

Jumah Mubarak Everyone!

I've mentioned Sam Moon a lot on this blog before. Well yesterday I went down to the store and grabbed me about 6 or so hijabs. Here's what I came home with.

Mostly Floral Prints, I might just give some away. My sister has been asking me to get her some, so she'll probably end up with 2 or 3. Who knows some might go to my Giveaway I want to have.

I was a little unimpressed with the selection they had...a lot were the same styles from the last time I went there last Eid. I was hoping to find some lace, you know trendier stuff..but I'm happy with what I got.
Oh speaking of lace, look what I found in Payless...

Looks familiar? Yup you got it another Pearl Daisy Dupe. Two differences I realized. It only has one flower, where as PD's has 2 and it's not as wide at the PD Vintage Couture. When I saw this I HAD to buy it. It matches my outfit that I'm going to wear to my son's birthday party perfectly, on top of that it was olive. They had navy, black, olive and this dull magenta colour. They were also on sale from 12.99 US.

Haul (I guess)

I don't know how I feel about these Hauls. I want to share what I got but I don't want to seem as if I'm bragging or showing off...Because that is not my intention..to be honest I am bored at home and when I am done with all my home duties I need something to do, and this is my something..so yeah no bragging intended. And plus only 2 people read this blog, so yeah...lol.

I went to Ulta the other day, well my intention wasn't to go there, I really needed to go get some thing photo copied and notarized, and ulta is RIGHT next to the UPS store..lol weird I know . So I kinda couldn't help myself. When I went in I realized that I needed and wanted some new eyeshadow brushes because I was tired of my old brush (singular) and because I am now into eye makeup I thought it'll be a great little splurge.

I decided to get eco tools 6 piece eye brush set, and I also wanted an angle brush so I get one in the eco tools brand also. I am a little bit sad because when I came home I looked at my receipt and realized that I was undercharged. The girl didn't ring up the 6 piece brush set, and charged me 2X for the angle brush..in a nut shell, I owe ULTA about $5.50. I haven't gone back yet because it's so out of my way..and I don't have access to the car on a regular basis..so I am kinda stuck. INsha'allah when I go back hopefully next week to do some more notarization ( I am in the process of removing the "conditions" on my permanent residence status) so I'll go back and get that taken care of.

I also got a few NYX stuff. I've always wanted a jumbo eye pencil, so I got one in "French Fries". I love it so much. My intention was to use it as a base for my eye shadow, but I use it as an eyeshadow because it's so pretty.. It's my everyday shadow..but it creases which I don't like so much but I'm not going anywhere so I don't really care. I love it none the less.

I also got an eyeshadow in "Daisy" it's a gold colour. Lastly a liquid liner, I will not get stared on my love for liquid liners. I think I am obsessed. I love them so much. This one is "Felt Tip liner" I don't find it works as well as it should. But it gets the overall job done I guess.

French Fries and Daisy

2nd Haul. Hijabs. I was picking my sister in law up from school (it's finally winter break) anyways so we kinda like to stop by this store Melrose only because their stuff is cheap and some items are great..so I went in and saw these scarfs

They came in a variety of colours..and they reminded me so much of Pearl Daisy "Fairy Lights" scarfs. so I was like yeah I'll get 2.. 5 bucks each why not eh.

This is a new hijab style I decided to try out. I have been becoming really tired of my regular wrap around look, so I thought I'd spice things up a bit. I got the hijab tutorial from a YouTube user named Yazthespaz89, I love her flair..lol. I don't know how comfortable I am with my neck showing but I do really enjoy this look and it's super easy...I kinda tweaked it a little only so my neck doesn't show as much but overall it's the same thing.

Update: I went back to Ulta to do what is right. I had called a day before to tell them I was coming. All in all I got a coupon for $3.50 and I only had to pay a difference of 2 something. SEE it pays to be honest and truthful. The line was so long though..You shouldn't really do price adjustments in the holiday seasons. My 2 year old son was whining the whole time "Mommy LETS GOOOO!" ..."Come on LETS GOOO" I swear; sometimes I think he's 12.

Hijab Haul

I have mentioned Sam Moon before. Maybe not directly but stated in several blogs that certain items were from there, Mostly Hijabs. I LOVE THAT STORE!!!! My Husband first introduced me about 2 and a half years ago. As I was not at all familiar with Dallas. Sam Moon is basically a big gigantic retail/wholesale store. I guess it's known for it's purses. I remember my first time in there I was looking for a camel coloured bag, and I saw a bunch of women just piling bags on-top of bags into their little basket. It's kind of an overwhelming place the first time you go because there is so much to choose from. Bags piled high, jewelry, anything you can think of. My favorite section is the scarfs. I love the fact that hijabs are so easily accessible now a days. When I was younger all I remember wearing was white and black. And was only able to get them at the masjid or from some ladies house. But yes, the hijab section. It's like colour overload.

I initially had gone there for a hijab or 2 for Eid, to match my outfit:

outfit sneak-peek

Unfortunately I didn't have much luck, but it doesn't really matter because I already had a back-up so I'm good in that department. Strangely enough I ended up buying 7 hijabs, 2 pair of earnings and one bracelet. So much for a plan eh. I am kind of regretting the bracelet because it's kinda old looking.

Hijabs Price Range: $5-$8 (most were $5) Apparently I was in a floral mood...:D

Jewelry Price Range: $3-$7

I've always wondered what do they do with all the items that they don't sell...and I mean they have alot of stuff...where does it all go...and that goes for all retailers, where does all the unsold items go? Outlet? but what if the store is an outlet? Charity? I need to find out! A few years back, when I worked in retail, I had asked my manager this same question and she told me something about them going to Toronto and getting destroyed... I don't know if I really believe this, why would you destroy perfectly good wearable clothing? Perhaps I can get a good deal on clothing, shoes or whatever. That will be my official mission as of today.

Sam Moon is currently only located in Texas. A few months ago I saw that more stores popped up around Texas, and I do not doubt that they might have some through out the US...but that might be a slower process. For now online is where you can get a lot of items www.SamMoon.com, unfortunately they don't have scarfs available online yet.

P.S I don't work for this company in any shape or form, I just love their Hijabs..lol.

Drugstore Haul/Mini Review

Today I went out to get another Eyeshadow base...Because I absolutely hate Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer. That stuff was a little cakey and I do not like having little white blotches on my eye. $8 wasted :(So I decided to pick up Loreal De-Crease which was $7.50. The formula is much smoother than Palladio. and the colour blends fairly well with my complexion, so I didn't have to worry about white blotches. Yeah for good buys. I really want to try the Urban Decay Primer Potion which I hear is absolutely wonderful...but for now I'll stick with my Loreal.

The next other purchase today was the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse. I got it in Caramel (Dark 2). At the bottom it says Airbrush Finish, which kinda drew me in because I like and even looking complexion. I do not normally wear foundation, because I don't like my face feeling so heavy, but I got this because Eid is coming up and I want to look great in pictures. My face alhumdulillah is fairly even, but I wanted a little help...I love the fact that this foundation doesn't feel heavy at all, it's light and a little bit goes a long way.Down side...The worst thing about buying foundation or anything similar is you can not colour match, unless they have testers, but in my case the didn't, and I didn't want to open something and try it out and then leave it back on the shelf, which I see a lot of people do and that is something that aggravates me. Anyways the shade is a little bit too dark for me..but it's not too too bad where people would notice.

Wow, I was raking through that Maybelline aisle today...as I got two more Maybelline products. The Colossal Volume Express Mascara in "Glam Black" and Eyestudio Gel Liner in "Blackest Black. I love Gel liners. I have Mac Fluideline in "Blacktrack" and I've been using it for years. I love the consistency, you don't need to put on too much, no clumping, I can go on but I wont because it's about Maybelline Gel Liner. I degrees...a big fat whomp whomp. I hate it. The colour comes out sheer. What is the point of making it sheer. On the package it says "Intense Colour".
This would mean I would have to use more to achieve this "intense colour". Both MAC and Maybelline are the same size 3g/.1oz

so technically by default MAC is the better buy and more cost effective. The colour comes out very opaque, and just need to stroke it across the eye one time to get the full colour. I guess the only good thing about Maybelline Gel Liner is that it came with a brush.

Lastly for fun I got a little treat for my 2 year old son...

We've tried with before during one of his bath times and he LOVED it. Its a Sesame Street brand "Fizzy Tub Colors". He has a slight obsession with Elmo, and anything sesame street related. He is a boy who loves to colour on my walls and just about everywhere. SO I thought why not colour up the water. This package cost about $1 and it comes with 6 tablets. It says for up to 6 baths but realistically speaking he will not use 1/bath..so it's more like 2-3 baths...lol. But it was fun and he loved it so that's all that matters. They also come in a bigger package, I don't remember how many tablets it had but that one was about $5. I also know Crayola makes a similar product. I don't know the price range though.

Mini Haul

Hey guys,

I know hauls are usually in video form, but, I'm not really into vlogging, perhaps in the near future.
Over the weekend I went to Sally's Beauty Supply store in hopes of getting Loreal Natural Therapy Unfrizz Taming Creme but the
n I found out that they discontinued it. The lady wasnt really clear, and she really didn't know she said either the store discontinued it or Loreal...any-who, I needed something to I got this other product..Ion Anti-Frizz Solutions Lusterizing Cream, it cost around $8.00 with my beauty card, it was a bit expensive I thought. One the plus size it is 100% Vegan, which is good because I didn't have to worry about glycerin and it it was animal base or plant base. I haven't tried it yet but I plan to later on today.
I also went to get an eyeshadow primer so I purchased
Palladio Herbal Eye Shadow Primer, $7 and I found this Orly mail polish in a sales bin which cost me $1.99, I was happy. Orly usually runs you about $6-$7. The colour is Purple Pleather and its a matte base, it looks so pretty. At first I wasnt really a fan of Matte nail colours but they grew on me. I'm not too sure how fall this colour is though, but I love it none the less.

My second stop of the weekend was Ulta Beauty.

went there to buy specifics. Eyeliner and fake
lashes. Both eyelines are Ulta brand and they were having a promotion 2 for $6. One cost $7 regular price and I got both for $6. You do the math. FREE!
One was the
Automatic Eye Liner in Raisin and the other was Khol Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua. I wanted an aqua colour to match my Eid outfit and I picked the Rasin becasue it reminded me of my mom.
