Katy Perry Grammy Inspired Eye

I finally got around to watching the grammy's a week late, but finally. When Katy Perry was on stage performing I was in LOVE with her eye makeup. It was so glittery and beautiful.

I decided to recreate the look with my non pro skills and here's what I came up with. I think the makeup on stage was a little different (more glitter) than her red carpet look: which is what I re-did. I thought it came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

This look I think compliments all skim tones. From Light to dark.

Falooda

Yesterday was pizza day at my house, so I had the bright idea of making faloodas to follow the pizza. I don't even know why I thought of this because every time I eat pizza (my limit is 2 slices) I get SUPER full. Maybe it's all that cheese, who knows. Anyways we were full so I didnt make the falooda until I convinced my SIL that she was hungry..lol. I wanted to make them so badly.

Falooda is a popular east asian drink usually served in the summer time. I guess it's similar to bubble tea without the giant tapioca pearls.

Here is what you need. I should note this was not really the "traditional" version, more of a simple easy no cook version.

Jelly, Falooda sev (vermicelli noodles), Basil Seeds soaked in water for about 1 hour. Milk, Roohafza, and Ice cream. There is not real order. I didn't use nuts as a topping because my son is allergic and I didn't want to have any chances of using that EpiPen again.

Spring Outting

This look was partly inspired by one of those Kardashian girls, I cant remember who, but she was wearing yellow shoes and I was just hypnotized by the shoes.

Hijab Mock-Up: Turban Style

As-Salaam Alaikum, I think I'm going to do a new blog series every now and then showing you guys different Hijab tutorials via youtube or where ever I get them, and post pictures of my versions, or my take on it.

Here is the first one. This is a turban style tutorial which was courtesy of Youtube user missNVK. I believe she's a fairly new youtube hijab guru. Alhumdulillah I am liking what I see. Unfortunately she only has a few videos as of now.

I love this style a lot because you can wear earrings with it without your ears being exposed. There is coverage and if your hijab is a wider/longer the chest coverage is there for those who want it.
I decided to add a little rosette at the side of the Hijab to dress it up a bit without a broach. I just used the shorter bit, bunched it up and pinned it to the side. This particular hijab was very narrow and I didn't have enough coverage in the back, I just used it because I loved the design. So I would suggest with this look, it is very imperative that the width of the hijab is more than 12 inches. Otherwise there would be no coverage in the back.

OPI's Black Shatter

After about 4 weeks calling and going in store, I finally got my hands on OPI's Black shatter. I knew Ulta restocks on Fridays, so luckily my son had a doctor's appointment which was near Ulta. Right after his appointment, I went straight over, got there 5 mins before the doors opened. They were maybe 3 or 4 people outside along with me, all waiting for the same thing. BLACK SHATTER. I was so happy when I got my hands on it. I was a little dissapointed that they ddint have the Katy Perry Mini pack but oh well..next time.

Here is what it looks like with nail polish. I originally wanted to get Serena Williams' Glam Slam Duo, but unfortunately they didn't have it. I was a little obsessed with "Simply Smashing" it's kind of like a bright tennis ball green/yellow, with shimmer. But since I cant find it locally, or online, I don't even shop online much anyway, so that is not really an option for me. I decided to go with a copy. I went to sally's and found Finger Paints 'Guggen I'm Lime'. I think it goes perfectly with the black shatter.

China Glaze: Ahoy!
Finger Paints: Guggen I'm Lime
Opi: Black Shatter

Same thing with clear top coat finish..divine!!!

You know what's weird Black shatter doesn't work on bare nails..strange.

I know they've been 3 nail posts in a row, Insha'Allah next post will be a fashion related. Perhaps shoes?

Valentines Mani

I've been toying with the idea of doing a valentines mani or post valentines mani (depending of when a certain aunty arrives). So far I've done two looks; one with mini hearts, and the other with lips.
My biggest dilemma is I don't know which one to choose if at all choose any. So many choices, and I suck at choosing. They are both very different and unique in their own way! I am sorta leaning towards the more feminine of the two, the tiny hearts!!!

Essie: Pink Parka
Sally Hansen: White On

NYC: Uptown
NYC: Times Square
Sally Hansen: White On
I hope you like both looks :)
