Hijab Storage

I have a lot of hijabs and I find storing them to be a hassle. I use to hang them on hangers like so:

I hated this way of storage because the hangers kept breaking, and it literally took up too much space.

So I've moved on to a different way of doing things, now I just keep them neatly folded in a 1 gallon zip-lock bag like so:

all tucked away neatly in my drawer. I think I have about 5 or 6 baggies in one drawer. I colour co-ordinate (like big boys do) so the amount of hijabs per bag vary, but I find it can fit up to 8 or so comfortably. I fold and roll them up so I can get as many in the bag but still have room to take them out whenever I please.

But I've come across this Youtube video which might be a solution to my little issue. I kinda like my ziplock storage technique, if you so choose to call it that, but I am always looking for ways to improve my organization. The only problem is I dont want to take up more closet space as I have one closet that is shared between myself, my husband and my little boy...but since I am kinda the boss, I guess it's okay.

I've already purchased the hangers I just need to get the right size clothespins. I have some but I find that they are a little too long, you kinda need the shorter clothespins to pull this off. Currently I'm still on the hunt for them. So when I have everything, I'll keep you posted on how it all worked out.

Fashion Fonder: Jumpsuits

I am absolutely in love with jumpsuits. Once in a while you'll have to add a long-sleeve top but most times just throw a cardigan, blazer or whatever you want over and you're ready to go. They are so easy. Except when you have to use the washroom, that is probably one of their biggest flaws. But in life nothing is perfect.

All the jumpsuits pictured above are from Topshop.

Casual Chic

Casual Chic in my opinion is a combination of looking stylish and fashion forward while still maintaining comfort. I've put together a look that I think is the definition of "Casual Chic" and it's clearly Hajabi friendly. This look is perfect for the fall/winter months because you have the layering, with the coverage and the warmth. I thought that a warm wool scarf around the neck adds great volume and definition. Another great thing I find about this look is the Maxi Dress. I feel that a maxi dress can be a year round staple. Granted I don't think bright summery prints and colors would work well for fall/winter, but they are no real rules to fashion, so if you want to add some bright hues to the dull grays and blacks, by all means.

PS. I have one follower...I am so pleased. To everyone, one may seem like nothing; but it's a wonderful thing for me considering I just made this blog because I love fashion, and I wanted to do something a little fun in my spare time. SO a BIG thank you to my lovely follower!!! I feel the love!

Water Marbling Redux/Fabulous Find

So I decided to give Water Marbling another go (Documented, I've actually been doing it alot, only on one or 2 nail, but this is one that I photographed)...it was supposed to be a flower, it didn't come out as nice as I hoped, but it's progress. I need to grow my nails. The longer the nail the better the design. In order to grow my nail I would first need to stop biting them. I know it's a bad habit, but I can't help it. What's even sadder I've passed it on to my son. He's 2 and I always see him nibbling on his little finger nails:(As for the fabulous find. I was in Ulta the other day and I found this Essie Fall 2009 "Cuddle with Color" 4 Pack Mini Collection in the sales bin for $3. I love scooping up sale items. Does that mean I'm cheap? lol. Anyway, the packaging was cute, but my little boy took it when I open it up to photograph the colors, and I have no clue where he hid it..:P

Included were:
Angora Cardi: A darker Dust Rose
Muffs: Smoky Taupe
Midnight Cami: Shimmery Midnight Blue
Pink Parka: Hot Pink

It's a little shameful that the pink parka would not photograph in it's true color on my nails, but It is absolutely beautiful.

Most of these colors can coincide with fall 2010, Mind Muffs and Angora Cardi in particular.

Today's outfit

I dont know, for some reason I haven't been posting, I try to get one in at least once a day, but Ive been slacking theses last few day. I have been so busy, and with eid coming up I'll probably be M.I.A. Insha'Allah I hope to get at least one post a day or every other day, but who knows.

Here is the outfit I wore a few days ago, sadly it's not "today's outfit" but lol that will do.

Poll Time!!!

This style has been bothering me for a while...the Ed Hardy type, tattoo inspired clothing.. who finds these thing attractive in any way, shape, or form? In my opinion I think it looks a bit cheap.Even the ones that don't have all the faces... cheesy as cheddar!! (yeah I know that line was a bit cheesy, but I guess that's kind of the point ...heh)

So tell me what you think?

Wide Legged Trousers

I love a great wide leg trouser. I think it is a wordrobe essential for a hijabi or anyone for that matter. Here I have pictured is a great wide legged pant in Grey. It almost looks like a skirt, that's what I love the most. I hate the feel of skirts, but I love wearing them. Grey and pink are one of my favorite color combination.

So I've paired the Grey pants with this lovely Dusty Rose colored top, and a darker cover-up to break up with lightness of the look.
