OPI: Nicki Minaj Collection

Purple Shatter "Super Bass" ,"Metallic 4 Life", "Save Me", "Fly", "Did It On 'Em", "Pink Friday".

These are the soon to be released colours from Nicki Minaj collection by OPI, due to hit store January 2012.  The silvers, "Metallic 4 Life", and "Save Me", looks amazing. I am also loving "Pink Friday". I am tempted to purchase the Purple shatter, even though I have China's Glaze's  "Fault Line". I was really disappointed by CG because their crackle dried up in about 2 uses. I had purchased my OPI black shatter way before Fault Line and it's still working fine till this day. So I have high hopes for "Super Bass" and it's a deeper richer looking purple too. Can't wait for the New Year.

Breast Cancer Awearness Nail

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is a month that not only encourages awareness, but educates and empowers people.

Last year my Aunt; alhumdulillah fought and won the battle with breast cancer. This nail look was inspired by her and the many other women and MEN, who are fighting every day with this disease.

Haul (Random)

I wanted to use my $3.50 off coupon at Ulta so I picked up these two: Nicole by O.P.I "Texture Coat" in Gold Texture. I must say I really love the gold way better than the silver. The think I don't understand is how come this Nicole Texture didn't come with the signature Nicole brush. The brushed in there are standard.

I also picked up the EOS Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew. I love Honeydew melons so it was a no brain-er to choose this flavour.

I was looking for The pink shatter by OPI but it wasn't available, and I ended up getting it at Walmart, in the salon. So look out for that at Walmart, they have all the shatter colours available except for silver.

I heard OPI is coming out with a Gold Shatter as well. But I don't think I want to wait around for that.

Trying Something New!!!

I've decided to make use of my YouTube account, and possibly post some of my nail designs. I don't think I would be doing tutorials as of yet. This is not really set in stone, just experimenting.

Here is a nail design I did before Ramadan. It was inspired by a Hijab.

I decided to do a Jem Nail Art...Who remembers Jem? Truly outrageous!

China Glaze- China Rouge

This my friends is my go to red. Well it's the only true red I own, and most likely the only true red I would buy again. Love it to bits!

This really is a sexy colour. Very Feminine and mature but not in an old way, but grown-up.

Vibes...

The "tribal" look is the hot thing this season. It's all over the place, from clothing to accessories, so why not have it on your nails too? This look was inspired by cutepolish...and Rihanna's music video, Man Down. Rum pa pa pum!

Just a thought: is "tribal" considered tribal to "tribal people" or do they think of it as so last year, or {insert circa here}?

Another nail post...it's okay though I know they are loved!

What I have here is China Glaze's Dorothy Who? When I think Dorothy I think Wizard of Oz and those Ruby Red Slippers. This sparkly concoction of awesome blueness really makes you forget those slippers and Dorothy.

Grey Suede...

I absolutely love this colour by Revlon. A nude with Grey undertones AND, a little bit of shimmer. Really pretty.

The only problem I have with this polish, and all Revlon polishes for that matter, is they bubble. It does not matter how slow or fast I apply the polish, those pesky little bubbles show up. All's well when I put Seche Vite topcoat on.

...and then there were none.

With all the spills, etc to clean up with a 3 yr old running around. They were getting too hard to maintain. (This coming from a person who has never really had long nails up until now, so yeah they were hard to maintain). With my scrubing and general accident prone ways a nail or two would break and long and short look was not cutting it for me. So, I've decided to cut my nails off.

I like short nails better. So much easier to handle. I'm going to try to grow them out again, but they'll remain this length for a while. I'll still do designs, but they wont look as lovely.

I was looking at Anna Sui's Fall 2011 RTW collection and I spotted this...

A few posts back I did a marbled nail using the same colours... *points to index finger*

What a coincidence. Great minds think alike I guess ;)

Dusty Rose!!!

I've been on the hunt for the perfect dusty rosey nude colour. I think I've found it. Wet n Wild's Undercover was the right shade I was looking for. They only draw back is the brush is so short and fat, which makes application a little bit tedious. But I cant really expect greatness for $1...I am very content with the colour, and that's all that really matters to me in the end.

I think this will be one of my go to nudes from now on. LOVE!

Oh Canada

Canada Day (July 1st) is around the corner, what better way to show my patriotic side and celebrate a little early by doing a nail design.

The maple leaf was easier to draw than it look. Colours used: OPI-Red Shatter, China Glaze- China Rogue, Sally Hansen-White On. What I love about OPI's Red shatter is the intensity of the colour changes depending on the base colour used. Pretty rad!
