Ethnicity Tag- Bajan!!!

I love this tag so much. I've seen a few videos going around youtube, I was feeling a little left out, so here's mine.

1. What is your ethnicity?
Barbadian or Bajan. That's a person from Barbados. When people ask me where I'm from, when I answer them they have a somewhat confused look on their face. For some reason no one knows where that is. Which is slightly baffling because definitely a vacation spot. My Parents were both born there, I was born in Canada, but lived there from age 0-5. No I don't know Rihanna, but my cousin knows her cousin.

2. When was the last time you visited your country?
The last time I've visted was in 2006. It was so fun.

3. Name one ethnic food you enjoy the most?
I love Salt Fish and Cou cou. which is like a corn meal and okra base with fish gravy. It is really good.

I have not eaten it since my mother Passed which was also in 2006. Lately I've been craving her Cassava pone. Coconut and Cassava desert.

4. Name one household item that best represents your culture.
I don't know..I have Barbados Flag earrings..does that count?

5. What part of your country are you from?
Well my Father is from St. Micheal, and my mother is from St. Joseph. When we lived there we were in Bathsheba St. Joseph.

6. Can you speak the language of your ethnicity?
Yes. Hello, how are you. (English)

Hope you enjoyed this. I tag whoever reads this. :)

Honeybee Gardens WaterColors- Vintage Merlot

I received my Honey Bee Gardens water-based polish in the mail not too long ago and I was was extremely excited. This was the first time I've tried a water-based polish and I've heard several good things.

Application- The polish was fairly easy to apply.  It was a little streaky, but the more coats I applied the more even to polish looked on the nails. I used 3 coats on each nail.

Smell- The company claims that it's 'nearly odorless' I don't know what their definition of 'nearly' is but it has a smell. True, the smell doesn't light up the whole room as regular nails polish does. You do smell it when you are painting your nails and when the polish dries. I can even smell it faintly when I've washed my hands several times throughout the day since I removed it. The smell reminds me of paint. I recently bought my son this paint set and it smells exactly like the paint. Slightly bitter smell. I do not like it at all.

I wanted to see what it looked like with a top coat. I used Seche Vite, which is probably the complete opposite of this polish. but it was all I had and it turned out just beautiful.

Removal- I didn't find the removal of this polish that difficult at all. It came with a polish remover, which is Acetone free. It took a little longer that regular nail polish remover but nothing overwhelmingly too challenging. The remover left an almost oily residue on my hands that I wasn't too keen on, but a little soap and water fixed that right up. This remover also removed the polish with the Seche Vite Top Coat.

I thought it was strange the pamphlet says the polish cant be removed with regular nails polish remover but I tried it and it can. Maybe it's not recommended, who knows--but I shall rebel!

I'm very happy with this polish, I think I will be purchasing more in the future. I'll even test out their makeup, I have my eye on their Party Girl Eye Shadow Palette.

Dinner: Lemon Pepper Tilapia

I was feeling completely drained and did not feel like cooking at all. But since we want to live, there needed to be some food. So I decided to cook some fish, because its EASY.

This came out so moist, and so tasty. It was simple and light, but still had an impact. I added some spinach and sauteed it in the same pan as the fish. This was a pleasant treat. I did not follow a recipe for this, I kind of did my own thing.  But here is an actual recipe of the same exact thing.
1 teaspoon butter
1 tablespoon oil
4 tilapia fillets
lemon pepper seasoning
salt

Directions:

1 .In a large frying pan, melt butter on a med heat.
2 .Add oil.
3 .Put fish in pan.Season with lemon pepper and salt.
4 .Turn in 3 minutes and season other side, cook for 4 more minutes.
5 .Serve.

NYX Color Lip Balm

I was in Ulta yesterday and the first place I go to is the NYX section, then I saw Lip Balm. I don't know if these are new, but they are new to me. I immediately started swatching.  I fell in love with Merci which instantly reminded me of the MAC lip conditioner Fuchsia Fix. I was obsessed with Fuchsia Fix before having a child and realizing spending $15 on a lip balm was insane. It's amazing how cheap that boy made me..(I love him though) After grabbing  Merci, I noticed a small BOGO sticker, so I also picked up Shurkan.

I find it incredibly endearing that all 12 shade's name means "Thank You" in a different language. These lip balms are incredibly smooth. They make my lips feel silky smooth and buttery. When you put it on there is just the right amount of color, leaving a very natural look. So don't be afraid of the  bright colors they are very sheer. Merci smells very berry. Almost grape-y raspberry. While Shurkan has a hint of berry but not as much as Merci. I absolutely love these
